Iranians have visited and prayed for patients during spiritual ceremonies of Ahya (vigil) held on the 21st night of the holy Ramadan month.
In Iran, a series of nights falling on 19th, 21th and 23th of the holy month of Ramadan is commemorated as the Laylat al-Qadr--the occasion when the holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH).
During such nights, many people in the country gather at mosques and other religious sites to practice spiritual vigils by reading the holy Quran and praying for the best.
