Bijar, city of castles and hills

The tourist city of Bijar is known as the roof of Iran, and the cradle of castles and ancient hills.

It is one of the ancient cities of Iran. It lies in Kordestan Province.

Bijar is one of the highest cities in Iran as it lies at 1,940 meters above sea level, thus it is known as the roof of Iran.

The city is home to dozens of ancient monuments.

Bijar Protected Area, Qomchoqay Castle, Salavatabad Bridge, Sarab Gargin Hill and Khosroabad Garous Mosque are some of the region’s tourist attractions.
