‘Solar Eclipse’ grabs award in Norway

Iranian short flick ‘Solar Eclipse’ has garnered an honorable mention at the 34th edition of the Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway.

Co-directed by Raha Amir-Fazli and Alireza Qasemi, the short film is the story of a girl named Saqi and some of her friends.

A synopsis to the short film reads, “Just a short time before the solar eclipse, Saqi’s life goes through changes”.

Khorshid Cheraghipour, Paniz Esmaeeli, Anita Baqeri, Faraz Modiri, and Peyman Naeemi are the actors playing in the short.

A co-production of the Iranian company Sixth Side and the French company White Star, the short film has also participated in several international festivals, including the Switzerland-based Shnit Worldwide Short Film Festival, the Show Me Shorts Film Festival in New Zealand, the Nice Film Festival in France, and the Rhode Island International Film Festival in the US.

The Minimalen Short Film Festival hosts the best of international short films.

According to the official website of the festival, “The Minimalen Short Film Festival is a blessed area within the Art of Film where there is still headroom for experimentation, and white spaces left on the map to explore”.

The 2022 edition of the event was held on January 11-16.
