Paris to screen Iran cinema title 'Parting'

Widely-lauded Iran cinema production ‘Parting’ directed by Navid Mahmoudi is set to be screened in France.

The film will enjoy the second showing at 2017 edition of Cinema(s) d’Iran (Iranian Cinema) in Paris with its first screening session held on 15 June.

"Navid Mahmoudi's debut [is] about a young migrant couple's attempt to leave Iran for Europe", a review for 'Parting' read.

In 2017, the film was chosen as Afghanistan's submission in the foreign-language film Oscar category. It screened at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea in 2016.

Cinema(s) d’Iran (Iranian Cinema) is an association created by Iranian, French and Franco-Iranian students.

The association aims to improve the understanding of Iranian culture in France. The association’s official goal is to “put in place cultural manifestations to initiate dialogues.”

The 5th edition of Cinema(s) d’Iran is held June 14-20, 2017 in Paris, France.
