France hosting ‘Daily Massacre in Tehran’

The 44th edition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France has been hosting Iranian short flick ‘Daily Massacre in Tehran’.

Directed by Hessam Hamidi, the short flick is set to go on screen at the Short Film Market section of the French event.

A brief synopsis for the short film reads, “Foad is a 12-year-old boy who comes to Tehran to make money and support his mother. He is willing and ready to take on any paying job, but each job brings with it a set of new challenges”.

The cast list of the film includes Hamid-Reza Karami, Mehran Atashzaee, Rouzbeh Sinaki, and Mehrnoush Salimi.

The film has already participated in a number of global events, including the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece, the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the US, the Odense International Film Festival in Denmark, and the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.

The Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival is “the world's largest film festival dedicated to short films”, the website of the event reads.

“In term of audience and professional presence, it is the second largest film festival in France after Cannes.”

This year’s edition of the festival kicked off on January 28 and will end on February 5.
