Jacksonville fest hosting ‘The Badger’

Iranian feature ‘The Badger’ has been going on screen at the Jacksonville Film Festival (JFF) in the US.

Kazem Mollaee’s feature film is competing at the Feature Narrative section of the 15th edition of the US event.

The movie, starring Vishka Asayesh, tells the story of a 40-year-old woman. Her name is Soudeh Sharifzadegan and she is facing a difficult challenge in her private life at the time near her second marriage.

Her son goes missing and her ex-husband tries to help her finding the son. However, the missing is just part of a stupid plot.

In addition to Asayesh, the flick's cast list includes names such as Hassan Majouni, Mehraveh Sharifinia, Behnoush Bakhtiyari, Reza Behboudi and Gohar Kheirandish.

‘The Badger’ has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Shanghai International Film Festival in China and the Austin Film Festival in the US.

Founded in 2002, the mission of the JFF is to “celebrate motion pictures by discovering and showcasing new talents to rejuvenate the film industry by creating an atmosphere that immerses the filmmakers with their audience and community.”

The festival is an opportunity for filmmakers to be recognized for their cinematic achievements while creating an event to reward the best works submitted to the festival.

This year’s edition of the event kicked off on February 4 and will wrap up on February 6.
