Australian fest to host ‘Old Man’s Heavy Sleep’

Iranian short film ‘Old Man’s Heavy Sleep’ has been placed in the 2022 official selection of the International Film & Entertainment Festival of Australia (IFEFA).

The upcoming edition of the Australian film event, which will be held on February 16, will host Mostafa Rostampour’s 15-minute ‘Old Man’s Heavy Sleep’.

Rostampour’s film is about an old man whose children left him. The man feels lonely and can’t tolerate the situation. He desires death because of this deadly loneliness.

Rostampour has a strong presence in the 2022 IFEFA as his other short film named ‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ is also among the Iranian lineup of the main competition section of the festival.

‘Old Man’s Heavy Sleep’ is the winner of the Best Cinematography Award at the 2020 edition of Italian Film Days festival.

The flick also participated in a number of international festivals, including the Lift-off Film Festival in the UK, the Media View Int’l Film Festival in Hungary, the First-time Filmmaker Sessions in the UK, the 2020 Southeast Regional Film Festival in the US and the Busan Int’l Kids and Youth Film Festival in South Korea.

The list of the international festival appearances of the flick also includes the 1st LIVING TOGETHER AGAIN – Venice Architecture Short Film Festival in Italy and the 2020 Southeast Regional Film Festival in the US.

The International Film & Entertainment Festival provides an opportunity to showcase movies from around the world that “are high on art and content and may or may not be shown in cinemas.”

IFEFA also “attempts to celebrate the cinematic art and awards the most original and creative films and artists in the entertainment industry,” writes the official website of the event.
