Iran’s ‘The Wound’ to vie at US fest

Iranian short flick ‘The Wound’ has been slated to participate in the D.C. Independent Film Forum (DCIFF) in the US.

Written and directed by Sahar Nourmonavvar, the flick will hit the screen at the Narrative Shorts section of the 22nd edition of the US event.

The specified block where the film will be screened at is titled ‘Two New Films from Iran’. The screening is set to take place at the Landmark’s E Street Cinema on March 5.

The 12-minute ‘The Wound’ tells the story of a little girl of 9 who has lost her family in an earthquake. After the catastrophic incident, she thinks she is wounded.

Vania Afzali and Alireza Labibian comprise the cast list of ‘The Wound’.

The flick has already participated in a number of global events, including the Durango Independent Film Festival in the US, the Central Florida Film Festival in the US, the Girona Film Festival in Spain, and the Chesapeake Film Festival in the US.

Launched in 1999, the DCIFF is an independent film event screening cutting edge features, shorts and documentaries on every subject from the world.

This year’s edition of the fest will be held on March 2-6.
