Iran actor to produce Afghan film

Famed Iranian actor Bahram Radan says he is set to make film themed on Afghanistan.

The popular actor said to iFilm on the sidelines of 2022 Fajr Film Festival that “In the next year, I will make a film related to Afghanistan.”

He added that “I have good Afghan friends and am proud of them, but I am worried about the future of their country and worried about their security. I hope peace will be established in Afghanistan so that we can travel with no ease to the country.”

Radan was nominated at the fifth Iran Cinema Celebration Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role by performing in ‘Swan Song’ (2000).

He gained an award for the Best Actor in a Leading role for his performance in ‘The Killer’ (2009) at India’s Ladakh International Film Festival.

He also won two Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh awards for Best Actor by starring in ‘Candle in the Wind’ (2003) and ‘Santouri’ (2006).

He has also appeared in more than 30 movies, including ‘Gilaneh’, ‘The Verdict’, ‘Kan'an’, and ‘Ceasefire’; as well as ifilm’s ‘Maritime Silk Road’, ‘Down and Out’, ‘The Yellow Rose’ and ‘Istanbul Junction’.

Iranian star’s latest film ‘Grassland’ was screened at the 40th edition of Fajr Film Festival that wrapped up on Friday.
