US fest to host Iran film

The Media Film Festival (MFF) in the US is set to host Iranian short flick ‘The Wound’.

Written and directed by Sahar Nourmonavar, the flick will hit the screen at the 15th edition of the American film event powered by Media Arts Council.

The 12-minute ‘The Wound’ tells the story of a little girl of 9 who has lost her family in an earthquake. After the catastrophic incident, she thinks she is wounded.

Vania Afzali and Alireza Labibian comprise the cast list of ‘The Wound’.

The flick has already participated in a number of global events, including the Durango Independent Film Festival in the US, the Central Florida Film Festival in the US, the Girona Film Festival in Spain, and the Chesapeake Film Festival in the US.

According the Media Film Festival’s website, the event is hosted by, “a group of volunteers who spend the year soliciting, screening, and scoring the ever increasing number of films” from around the world.

Screening various narrative, documentary, animation and experimental short films, “the goal is to build a greater appreciation of artists and filmmakers within our community and beyond”.

This year’s edition of the event is slated for March 31 to April 2.
