Iran Cinema Museum to unveil book on Jamshid Mashayekhi

Tehran-based Cinema Museum of Iran has scheduled to unveil the book ‘Jamshid Mashayekhi in Talks with Zaven Ghokasian and Vida Mashayekhi’ in the presence of cultural and artistic personalities, thespians and media people.

Iranian composer Nader Mashayekhi, the son of Jamshid Mashayekhi, and a group of theater and cinema figures will attend the unveiling ceremony to be held on February 27, 2022.

This program is organized by the Mashayekhi Music School, Murghabi Publications, in cooperation with the Cinema Museum of Iran.

Late Jamshid Mashayekhi is known to be one of the top five veteran actors of Iranian cinema, along with late Ali Nasirian, Mohammad Ali Keshavarz, Ezzatollah Entezami and Davoud Rashidi.

Born in 1934, Mashayekhi officially began his acting career in 1970. Since then, he appeared in about 100 films and over 50 TV series, before and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Starring in Ali Hatami’s historical film ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ (1984) brought Mashayekhi Cyrstal Simorgh for best actor in 1984 at the Fajr Film Festival.

His roles in ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ and 'Hezar Dastan' (1987) exhibit his acting ability.

The veteran actor died on April 2, 2019, at the age of 85.
