RINFF to screen Iran’s ‘Bandar Band’

Iranian feature ‘Bandar Band’ has made its way to the Rain International Nature Film Festival (RINFF) in India.

Iranian media reports said that ‘Bandar Band’ will take part in the upcoming edition of the RINFF.

Made by Manijeh Hekmat, the film is about a small musical band from one of the remote counties of southern Iran. The band is striving to take part in an unofficial competition in a coffee shop in Tehran.

Mahla and the other members of the band, including her husband and one of his close friends, embark on a trip to Tehran when they have lost everything in a flood.

The Rain International Nature Film Festival “focuses on films made to project the awesomeness of nature through the lens of the maker”, the event’s website reads.

One of the festivals’ core missions is “to engage with the younger generation and to ensure their participation, thereby encouraging them to take up the responsibility of nature conservation, and to spread awareness to the rest of the society.”

The 4th edition of the festival will take place on February 26-27.
