Watersprite fest nominates Iran’s ‘Fish’

The Watersprite Student Film Festival in the UK has nominated Iranian short animation ‘Fish’.

Written and directed by Parisa Jafari and a co-production of the Tehran University of Art and Documentary and Experimental Film Center, the flick is competing for best animation award at the 13th edition of the event.

‘Fish’ is about a man who decides to alleviate his fear.

The Festival Internacional de Escuelas de Cine – FIEC (International Film Schools Festival) in Uruguay honored the animation with a special mention.

The FIEC jury published a statement calling the movie “a short that manages to connect through the sensory, whose animation uses its impurities and freedoms to generate a raw and overwhelming experience.”

“Watersprite is a quality event that attracts the brightest young aspiring creative talent and engages them in stimulating debate,” noted the festival’s official website.

The 13th edition of the Watersprite Student Film Festival is slated for March 4-6, 2022 in Cambridge University, the UK.
