Dutch broadcaster obtains streaming rights to ‘The Doll’

Dutch broadcaster NPO has obtained the exclusive streaming rights to Iranian short documentary ‘The Doll’.

Directed by Elaheh Esmaeeli, the 33-minute documentary shows how the whole family members of a young girl can have parts in her future and fate. She is only 14 when the family is making a decision about marrying her off.

The short doc has already toured various global events, including the Atlanta Film Festival in the US, the International Film Festival of Huesca in Spain, and the kortfilmfestivalen in Norway.

Rezvan Beheshtian, Sahar Abdollahi, Mohammad-Javad Asadi, and Nabiollah Minaee are the main cast members of the flick.

According to the NPO website, “the Dutch public broadcaster consists of the NPO as the umbrella administrative body and a number of independent broadcasters with a broadcasting license. NPO coordinates the programming of all channels and online platforms and manages the distribution and broadcast of the programming”.
