Bangladesh hosing Iran doc

Iranian short documentary ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ has been competing at the International Short and Independent Film Festival Dhaka (ISIFF) in Bangladesh.

Directed by Yasser Talebi, the 15-minute film is representing Iran at the 16th edition of the event.

Being themed on forgiveness, love, humanity and immortality, ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ follows the story of Sorayya and Seyyed-Jalal, an underprivileged old couple who lives in a distant village in northern Iran.

The two lost their son in an accident; however, they agreed to donate his organs. Five years later after their brave decision, a film crew visited them and recorded their slow path of reconciliation with death.

Previously, the doc has been screened at a number of international film festivals, including the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan and the Regina Int’l Film Festival & Awards in Canada.

Launched in 1988, the ISIFF is one of the oldest festivals in Bangladesh.

Films from 130 countries are participating in the festival.

The 16th edition of the event is currently being held from February 25 to March 4.
