Get to know Iran’s Karkheh National Park

iFilm English website introduces Karkheh National Park in Iran’s Khuzestan Province.

Home to Dama or Persian Fallow Deer, the national park is located in southwest of Iran.

It is among the remaining tropical forests in the world and home to a rare type of deer local to Iran.

There is a program of regeneration and reintroduction of Persian Fallow Deer (Gavazn-e Zard in Persian) underway in the national resort.

However, this is not the only animal you can find in the region as there are rare species of animals, including wolf, fox, badger, jungle cat and hedgehog.

The existence of some large and small lagoons, including Maianroud, Khouzineh Baqer and Jacob in the park has turned into a winter destination for migratory birds such as stork, goose and coot. Therefore, here is an ideal spot for those who are into bird watching.

The fauna of this forest is also appealing to its visitors with its raspberry bushes, desert poplar, willow trees, caper, Lyceum Shawii and Clover.
