Co-directed and co-written by Hessam Hosseini and Abbas Hosseinzadeh, ‘Mahakan’ grabbed a nom at the Short Drama competition section of the Romanian film festival.
The coproduction is the story of a family who forces their seven-year-old daughter to undertake the responsibility of the murder his father committed, saving her father's life from the death sentence.
“To save the father, a family forces their little girl to admit murder,” reads as a brief synopsis to the film.
Some of the new names appeared as the cast team of the flick include Bahar Hosseinzadeh, Ali Mohammad Radmanesh, Fatemeh Radmanesh, Sharareh Mansour Abadi and Hossein Fallah.
‘Mahakan’ is the recipient of the best feature film director award from the 11th edition of the Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA) Awards.
Established in 2009, the SHORT to the POINT (STTP) is an international network of distribution, broadcast and promotion of short films and their authors.
Every short film included in the festival will be promoted in the monthly or seasonal events developed in Bucharest and/or other major cities from Romania and abroad.
The 14th Short to the point will announce the award winners in different categories of the event on April 11, 2022.
