Fribourg screening ‘Performance 54’

Iranian short flick ‘Performance 54’ has been competing at the 36th Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) in Switzerland.

The short flick, directed by Ali-Mohammad Eqbaldar, is currently competing for the top award at the Swiss event, along with other Iranian participants, including Mehdi Imani-Shahmiri’s ‘Parizad’, ‘Haboob’ by Mahsa Samani, and ‘Tattoo Your Dreams’ by Granaz Mousavi.

‘Performance 54’ is about three high school girls who plan to perform a play at school.

At the end of the play, one of them notices the similarity of the play with her personal life. So she intends to change the show.

Eqbaldar’s movie is making the debut screening at the Fribourg filmfest.

The FIFF aims to use films as a medium for enhancing the inter-cultures’ understanding. The event picks films that promote reflection and discussion.

The 2022 edition of the fest kicked off on March 18 and will run through March 27.
