Athens film+video fest to show ‘Zurvan’

The short documentary ‘Zurvan’ from Iran, the US, and Germany has been set to participate in the Athens International Film + Video Festival (AIFVF) in the US.

Directed by Nazgol Kashani, the 23-minute flick will be screened at The Space Inside-Shorts section of the 49th edition of the US event.

The film is on an ancient belief about the creation of the evil and the good in the infinite time.

According to the documentary, Zurvan is a divinity and mother of the twins evil and good.

When Zurvan first gives birth to evil, it decides to create the finite time, so that a day will come that good will overcome the evil.

The AIFVF is an annual event, which was launched in 1975.

According to the official website of the fest, it is “Known globally as a festival that supports cinema from underground and marginalized populations”.

This year’s AIFVF, also playing host to Iran’s ‘Solar Eclipse’ by Raha Amir-Fazli and ‘The Doll’ directed by Elaheh Esmaeeli, is set to be held on April 1-7.
