‘Cylinder’ joined the lineup of the official selection for the February 2022 edition of the event.
The film is taking part in the Narrative Short and Short Drama categories.
Written and directed by Amir Pazirofteh, ‘Cylinder’ is about a teenager who must obey his father who is obsessed with money, regardless of his own interest and talent in soccer.
“The father prevents his son from going to the football competition by any means. Eventually, after a consistent struggle, the match day arrived and the boy decided to reach the final match with the help of his friend, in any case,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Earlier reports said Iranian film ‘Mahakan’, co-directed by Hessam Hosseini and Abbas Hosseinzadeh, is also competing in the Short Drama category of the February 2022 edition of the Short to the Point.
Founded in 2009, the Short to The Point festival offers “professionals and amateurs the opportunity to promote their work, see their short films projected in unconventional cinemas across the world and even share their experience and knowledge to those who need advice and guidance”, the event’s website reads.
All the films that received monthly awards will be screened “next summer at the open-air cinema - Uzina Foto, Transylvania”, according to an online submission platform.
