UNESCO-inscribed Chapel of Dzordzor in Iranian province of West Azerbaijan is one of relocated World Heritage sites.
The Christian place of prayer and worship was constructed in the 14th century. It is a historical monument of Iran that has been moved once in 1987.
The relocation was done due to the construction of a water dam in its vicinity. The historical structure is now located 600 meters away from its original spot.
Armenian Monastic Ensembles of Iran consist of three, including the relocated chapel, inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2008.
