Netherlands to host Iran’s ‘A Hero’

Iranian feature ‘A Hero’ has been slated to vie at the "Movies that Matter" Film Festival in the Netherlands.

Award-winning director, Asghar Farhadi’s latest film will represent Iran at the 14th edition of the Dutch event.

‘A Hero’ is about Rahim, a divorced man who has been imprisoned due to unpaid debt. During a two-day leave, Rahim tries to prove that he is a good person.

The movie is starring Amir Jadidi, Mohsen Tanabandeh, and Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee.

‘A Hero’ was awarded the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in France.

It also grabbed three awards at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the US.

“Movies that Matter believes that the film camera is a powerful weapon against social indifference. Film has an unprecedented capacity to open eyes. What cannot be accomplished by spoken and written language is sometimes achieved by motion picture,” the official website of the festival wrote.

This year’s edition of the event is scheduled for April 8-16.
