Flock of tourists head to Caspian Sea

Flock of tourists head to the Caspian Sea beaches in Mazandaran province in order to spend the New Year (Nowruz) holidays.

Some of the major entertainments among Iranians on the sandy beaches are making sandy castles, playing ball games, having different snacks, swimming and boating.

The Caspian Sea is the world’s largest inland body of water, often described as the world’s largest lake or a full-fledged sea.

It lies between Europe and Asia; east of the Caucasus, west of the broad steppe of Central Asia, south of the fertile plains of Southern Russia in Eastern Europe, and north of the mountainous Iranian Plateau of Western Asia.

Mazandaran Province is located along the southern coast of the Caspian Sea and in the adjacent Central Alborz mountain range.

The province is one of the greenest provinces in Iran and has diverse natural resources. The diverse natural habitats of the province include plains, prairies, forests and rainforest stretching from the sandy beaches of the Caspian Sea to the rugged and snowcapped Alborz sierra.
