Human Rights fest of Catalonia to screen Iran’s ‘Scarf’

Iranian short film ‘Scarf’ has been shortlisted in the competition section of the 2022 Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia (Barcelona) in Spain.

Directed by Marjan Safabakksh and produced by Arash Mir Ahmadi, ‘Scarf’ is about a family who become the victim of false traditions.

The flick has already been screened at the 2021 Pride Time International Film Festival of Diverse Cinema in Spain, the 2022 Women's Int’l Film Festival Nigeria (WIFFEN) and the 62nd Ciné-Rencontres Prades in France.

The Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia, with 3 main headquarters in Barcelona, NYC and Paris, is a platform to screen cinematographic works dealing with the defence of human rights.

It also aims to “increase public awareness and boost the respect for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights based on the dissemination of those works,” writes the event’s official website.

The 2022 edition of the festival will take place on December 1-10, 2022.
