Iranian actor Hadi Eftekharzadeh has won an award at the Festival of Nations short film festival in Austria.
Eftekharzadeh won the best actor award for ‘The Cemetery Men’ at the 45th edition of the Austrian event.
Directed by Ali Mardomi, the movie was present at the competition section of the festival and managed to win the best actor award.
‘The Cemetery Men’ depicts the story of an old man working in a cemetery who spends most of his time praying for the dead.
He is, later on, joined by a young man with a beautiful singing voice who shares with him some events.
The short, 30-minute film was produced in 2015 by the Urmia branch of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society.
International shortfilm festival takes place in Lenzing, a small village near the lake Attersee and every year welcomes filmmakers from all over the world.
The festival shows fiction, animation and documentaries from 1 to 30 Minutes duration. The event holds open discussions between jury, filmmakers and the audience right after each film block.
