Iranian ‘Zari’ to vie at Italian fest

Iranian documentary ‘Zari’ has been selected to compete at the 70th edition of the Trento Film Festival in Italy.

This is the first international presentation of documentary ‘Zari’.

Directed by Arman Qolipour-Dashtaki, the documentary is about a woman who in her childhood was forced to marry a 25-year-old man, and since she has been living a challenging life.

The 11-year-old Zari is now a woman different from other grownups in her village.

She has a pickup and distributes gas among villagers.

The Trento festival is an “Open window onto the world” showing the best documentaries from various countries.

It provides an opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their films.

The event will be held from April 29 to May 8.
