Arizona filmfest to screen Iran’s ‘Lenz’

Iranian short film ‘Lenz’ has been set to hit the screen at the Arizona International Film Festival in the US.

Written and directed by Amir-Hossein Tabbat, the film will be displayed at the 30th edition of the event on April 30 at 2:30 PM.

‘Lenz’ is about a man who intends to commit suicide, but a video camera and photography changes his fate.

Rahim Shabahang is the star of the film.        

‘Lenz’ previously received the award for best special vision film at the eighth edition of the Chuncheon Film Festival in South Korea. It also grabbed the Best Editing award at the 7th CinéStudent Film Festival in the US, and the Best Short Film award at the 13th International Youth Arts Festival in the UK.

The 30th Arizona International Film Festival, the longest running and largest film event in Arizona, kicked off on April 20 and is set to wrap up on April 30, 2022.

The festival theme of Bridging Cultures provides a way for independent cinema to share images and voices from diverse cultures with communities in Arizona, according to the website of the festival.

Since 1990, the Arizona International Film Festival has screened more than 2,600 films from 90 countries to  some 152,000 Arizonans of all ages.
