A walk into Holy Quran Museum in Mashhad

The Holy Quran Museum in Mashhad, located at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), is considered the most specialized museum of the holy Quran as it displays 17 Quranic manuscripts and pamphlets attributed to the holy Prophet’s Infallible Household.

Besides various precious works, manuscripts of the Holy Book and Quranic pamphlets include those in the handwriting of Imam Ali (AS), Imam Hassan (AS), Imam Hussain (AS), Imam Sajjad (AS), and Imam Reza (AS).  

Located in the capital city of Khorasan Razavi, northeast of Iran, the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), has been home to the most precious artworks for ages.

Also contained within the complex are the Goharshad Mosque, a museum, a library, four seminaries, a cemetery, the Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, a dining hall for pilgrims, vast prayer halls, and other buildings.

One of the sections in the museum is allocated to the gifts granted by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, which include exquisite copies of the Holy Quran.

Overall, the Holy Quran and the Leader’s gifts museum put 130 copies of the Holy Book, Quranic pamphlets, and precious Quranic works on display.
