The 25th edition of the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) in Tanzania has been slated to host Iranian short animation ‘Irreversible’.

‘Irreversible’ is an 8-minute 2D animation, which took around two years to be produced.

A brief synopsis for the flick reads, “A country has been invaded and occupied by the forces of another country. There only remains one survivor, who, has been trying hard to redefine the alienated meaning of their life”.

The film’s director told the media that her choice of subject for the film has roots in the great impact nostalgia has on people’s lives. She is after explaining the path different individuals will take after their homeland has been colonized and the deep-rooted meaning of their life has been lost.

Previously, the film has taken part in the Athens Animfest in Greece and the International Youth Film Festival “Light to the World” (Kinofest) in Russia.
