Directed by Mehrdad Khoshbakht, the film will be screened at the Long Feature Films competition of the Tanzanian event.
‘Abadan Eleven 60’ is a narrative of the Abadani peopole cavalry during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran.
The film also depicts how, back then at the war time, the crew of the city’s radio station stayed put at their work place to give people hope that the victory was so close. They did so under the fire of an unjust war.
Alireza Kamali-Nejad, Vida Javan, Hassan Majouni, Nader Soleimani, Hamid-Reza Mohammadi and Shabnam Goudarzi are among the cast members of the flick.
According to the official website of the event, the ZIFF is an annual film fest which accepts “some of the most captivating and cutting-edge cinema from Africa and beyond… from world-premiers to local shorts”.
The 25th ZIFF, set for June 16-26, 2022 in Stonetown, Zanzibar will also host Iranian short film ‘Irreversible’ directed by Sheyda Kashi.
