Animated piece ‘The Servant’ directed by Iranian filmmaker Farnoush Abedi has been selected to compete at the 4th edition of the Fresco International Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films in Armenia.
The animated piece tells the tale of a giant cockroach who gets tired of his servitude to a man; so it disrupts the rules of the game. The man, however, attempts to preserve the current situation but soon realizes that the game has no rules.
‘The Servant’ previously won the Best Animation award at the 33rd Tehran International Short Film Festival in Tehran and the Best Short Film title at the 13th edition of Fantaspoa - International Fantastic Film Festival in Brazil.
The Iranian animation has also won an award at the 14th London Independent Film Festival in the UK and the best animation award of the 2017 edition of the Silver Scream Fest in Texas, the US.
Iranian film ‘Senses’ by Nahal Dashti, telling the story of a woman suffering from the daily routine of dealing with her ill husband, will also compete at the Armenian event.
Fresco is an international initiative that represents a thoroughly new format, distinct from the notions typical to the society.
The event aims to present international spiritual works and cultural pieces combined with the organization of free and healthy social discussions concerning the issues raised by them.
The 4th Fresco International Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films is slated for August 26-31, 2017.
