Iran film bags nominations in France

Iranian film ‘Who Are We?’ has bagged nominations at the Nice Film Festival South of France.

The film directed by Hasan Keyvan, has been nominated at five main sections including Best Editing of a Foreign Language Film, Best Original Screenplay of a Feature Foreign Language Film, Best Director of a Foreign Language Feature Film, Best Foreign Language Feature Film and Best Editing of a Feature Film sections.

A synopsis to the film reads, “Bahram misses the chance to live with the girl who he is in love with due to his immigration. Later, he finds the truth that the couple who raised him are not his biological parents. Finding out the new details, he goes through a breathtaking challenge. The feeling of lost identity and love do not leave him alone. He faces questions that disturb his internal peace”.

The cast of ‘Who Are We?’ include Afshin Nakhaee, Mohammadreza Barzegar, Mehdikhan Ahmadi, Raya Nasiri, Nina Barzegar, Elahe Pourrostami, Masoumeh Dashti, Shima Alahbeigi, Azad Parsaeenejad, Mehdi Zeighami Moqaddam, Mansour Zare, Masoumeh Zahedi, Hani Nikoupayam, and Telma Rafatkhah.

“Held Just a few days before the Cannes International film festival in May, Nice Film Festival is one of the greatest festivals in the world to help filmmakers find a market to support their aims with people attending that can give good solid advice to work with established film industry professionals,” the official website of the event wrote.

The 10th edition of the festival is scheduled for May 16-21, 2022.
