Urmia Lake banks painted in vivid yellow

Farmers in northwest of Iran have been welcoming the idea of growing rapeseed along the banks of Urmia Lake.

As part of Urmia Lake’s reviving program, farmers whose farms are close to the lake have been encouraged to grow plants that need less water.

The rapeseed plant is a great choice for this purpose in that it doesn’t need much water.
