Japanese amb. visits Iran martyr mother

Japan ambassador visits the only Japanese mother of Iraq-Iran war martyr hospitalized in Iran.

According to a Thursday media report, the Japanese ambassador to Iran Aikawa Kazutoshi paid a visit to Japanese mother of a soldier named Mohammad Babaei who was martyred during the Iraq-Iran war.

Kniko Yamamura has been hospitalized for the past two days in one of the Iranian hospitals.

With the married name Saba Babaei, she is the only mother of Japanese descent whose son was martyred in the Iraq-Iran war.

Japan’s ambassador was quoted by the media as saying, “Ms. Babaei could not speak, but I believe she can hear me, I hope she gets better as soon as possible. He has played an important role in strengthening Iran-Japan ties.”

Martyr Babaei who also took part in rallies against the deposed Iranian king Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in the pre-Islamic Revolution era was martyred at the age of 19.
