Tokyo University reviews Kiarostami’s films

Abbas Kiarostami’s films have been reviewed at the Tokyo University of the Arts.

Movies directed by renowned Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami have been reviewed in the Japanese classes of Mohammadreza Delpak, Iranian sound designer of the cinema and professor of the Tokyo University of the Arts.

Delpak, who had cooperated with Kiarostami as sound designer in seven films, honors his late colleague in his classes.

Japanese-French film ‘Like Someone in Love’; the latest cooperation of the two cinema icons was shot in Japan and is in Japanese.

Delpak is a record holder in Fajr Film Festival Crystal Simorgh Awards, receiving ten Crystal Simorghs.

Abbas Kiarostami is known as a screenwriter, film editor, art director and producer as well as a poet, photographer, painter, and graphic designer.

Kiarostami won many awards, including the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997 for his feature ‘Taste of Cherry’.

The globally renowned Iranian director died at the age of 76 in 2016. After his demise, a good number of well-reputable film events paid tribute to the mega-director.
