The painting named ‘Ghadir Oath of Allegiance’ was unveiled on the eve of Eid al-Ghadir, Shia Muslims’ celebration of the day when the Prophet of Islam appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) as the first Shia Imam.
Ruholamin’s painting shows Muslims pledging their loyalty to the Imam in an open-air gathering.
Ruholamin, who is best known for his paintings on early Islamic historical events, has several other canvases depicting stories on Imam Reza (AS) and Imam Ali (AS).
One of his paintings is called ‘The Conqueror of Khaybar’ which depicts Imam Ali (AS) removing the door of the enemy’s fort in the Battle of Khaybar.
Ruholamin’s other popular painting named ‘The Rain Prayer’ shows Imam Reza (AS) on a rock with people around him praying for rain.
