Apricot festival underway in Iran’s Marand

The Iranian city of Marand in East Azarbaijan Province has been hosting an apricot festival, intending to develop agritourism in the northwest Iranian county.

The three-day festival, which kicked off on July 20, 2022, aims to develop agricultural tourism.

Agritourism is a relatively new branch of the travel industry in which tourists stay with local people in rural areas.
