Traditional woodcutters known as Charbidaran in northern Iran cut down marked trees as per the forest management plan.
In the Iranian provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran, Charbidaran woodcutters cut down trees that are marked for removal by experts from Iran’s Forests, Range & Watershed Management Organization.
This is often done in order to clear land for development or other purposes.
You can see a glimpse of this traditional profession in the pictures.
