‘The Boot’ vying for Student Academy Award

Iranian animation ‘The Boot’ has been named as a semifinalist for the 49th Student Academy Awards.

The Short Film News website said ‘The Boot’ was shortlisted among the four semifinalists in the Animation category.

Directed by Sayyed Mohsen Pourmohsen-Shakib, the film is about a bird that is looking for food in a war-torn city filled with corpses.

The Student Academy Awards is an international student film competition.

 It was founded in 1972.

“Each year, college and university film students from all over the world compete for awards and cash grants, with films being judged in the following categories: Animation, Documentary, Live Action Narrative and Alternative/Experimental”, the event’s website reads.
