Qasreqand: A green gem in Iran’s Sistan and Balouchestan

The beautiful and scenic area of Qasreqand shines like a green gem in Sistan and Balouchestan Province in the southeast of Iran.   

The region is highly popular among domestic and foreign tourists owing to the presence of hundreds of historical and natural places, rivers, aqueducts, palm trees and rice paddies.

The residents of Qasreqand wear traditional clothing which depicts authentic Iranian culture.

Qasreqand enjoys a mountainous and tropical climate and its water is supplied from the aqueduct and Kajoo River.

Kajoo River is one of the roaring and permanent rivers of Qasregand that hosts short-nosed crocodiles.

The occupation of the locals is agriculture, and the most important products of this tourist area are grains, dates, and rice.

What the area is known for is its luxurious handicrafts and needlework, and its distinctive type of sewing which is the signature of its female artists.
