Foreign students visit Hamedan historical sites

Foreign students have paid visits to historical sites in the Iranian city of Hamedan to mark the city’s national day.

Hamedan National Day is observed on the first day of the Persian calendar month of Shahrivar, which falls on Tuesday this year.

Shahrivar 1st is also designated as the National Doctors’ Day.

The date marks the birth anniversary of Avicenna, who is considered as one of the most significant physicians and philosophers of the Islamic Golden Age between the eighth and thirteenth centuries.

Foreign students living in Hamedan have visited the mausoleums of Avicenna and Baba Taher, a Persian poet.
