Directed by Abolfazl Jalili, the 98-minute movie is about a teenager who wants to become a filmmaker but faces many obstacles.
“Emkan is a 17-year-old teenager who has not seen his father for many years and his mother has late-night manufacturing shifts. He decides to make a movie with a small video camera to add some variety to his everyday existence, but he lacks the necessary skills. He tries his best to achieve his goal…,” a synopsis for the film reads.
The cast list of ‘The Reversed Path’ includes Mahdiyar Asghari, Masoud Naji, and Pouyan Shokri.
The film went on screen at some global events, including the Beijing International Film Festival in China, the “Love Is Folly” International Film Festival in Bulgaria, the Jaipur International Film Festival in India, the Asian Film Festival Barcelona in Spain, the Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly in France, and the Shanghai International Film Festival in China, where it won the awards for Best Director and Best Actor.
Born in 1957, Jalili is a writer and director. He is considered one of the members of the Iranian new wave and started making amateur films at the age of 16 and made more than eleven documentaries, three short and two medium-length films.
The Moscow International Film Festival is one of the oldest in the world.
The 44th edition of the MIFF opened on August 26 with a showing of the Russian historical drama ‘Land of Legends’ by Anton Megerdichev.
It will wrap up on September 2 with a showing of the Korean drama ‘Decision to Leave’ directed by Park Chan-wook.
Iranian film ‘The Son’ won the awards for best directing and best actor in a leading role at the 2021 edition of the MIFF.
