Directed by Yasser Talebi, the 15-minute film that took 5 years to produce, received an award of excellence at the 19th edition of the fest.
Being themed on forgiveness, love, humanity and immortality, ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ follows the story of Sorayya and Seyyed-Jalal, an underprivileged old couple who lives in a distant village in northern Iran.
The two lost their son to an accident; however, they agreed to donate his organs. Five years later after their brave decision, a film crew visited them and recorded their slow path of reconciliation with death.
Previously, the doc has been screened at a number of international film festivals, including the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan and the Regina International Film Festival & Awards in Canada.
Established in 2003, the Accolade Global Film Competition is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams and new media creators the positive exposure they deserve.
