Peanut harvest in Iran’s Gilan Province: Photos

Nowadays, farmers in the Iranian city of Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh, a peanut hub, are engaged in harvesting the legumes.

Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh in Iran’s northern province of Gilan is one of the most important producers of peanut in the country.

The cultivation of peanut in Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh begins in spring, and its harvest time is in mid-September.

Each hectare of areas cultivated by peanut in the county produces nearly 6.5 tons of peanut pods. Of that quantity, about 4 tons of peanut seeds are produced.
