A shopping mall in the Iranian capital city of Tehran has won an architectural prize from the 2017 Prix Versailles in France.
The Arg shopping mall by Iranian architecture company Arsh 4D Studio has brought home the Special Prize Interior in the shopping malls category of the French award ceremony.
The Arg Shopping Mall project in Tehran was honored at a ceremony held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France.
The newly opened Arg mall is located in the neighborhood of Tajrish in north Tehran, It is a five-storey commercial complex with stores for jewelry, perfume, cosmetics, clothing, electronics and household items plus a food court, children’s indoor amusement space and Cineplex.
Architects of the project are Alireza Sherafati and Pantea Eslami. Arsh 4D Studio has been shortlisted in several national and international awards events.
Launched in 2015, the Prix Versailles is an annual award dedicated to commercial architecture. The event encompasses several categories, and is the world architecture award for stores, hotels and restaurants.
The award singles out the architects and owners of shops and stores, hotels and restaurants around the world that are found to be particularly remarkable, from a perspective of their exterior architecture and interior design.
