Green velvet of Iran’s Gereh Govabar village

Gereh Govabar is a stunning village in Eshkevar-e Sofla Rural area, Rahimabad District located in Rudsar County, Gilan Province.

In addition to the beautiful nature and a unique landscape that attracts many tourists, the village also holds a privileged agricultural position due to climate conditions.

As one of the densely populated villages of Gilan, the greenery forests in the region create a magnificent and colorful scene when fall arrives.

Gereh Govabar takes its name from an absorbing spring with the same name running through the village.

Due to the large and rich hazelnut production, Gereh Govabar is known as the country's major market. Borage is also one of the income products of the village.

The arable and fertile land gives rise to different types of fruits and vegetables like walnut, pears, pomegranates, grapes, apples, fig, quince and medlar.

Social cohesion, gladness and hospitality are the main characteristic of the natives.
