‘Until Tomorrow’ honored at Zurich Film Festival

Iranian director Ali Asgari’s feature film ‘Until Tomorrow’ has been awarded with an honorable mention at the 18th edition of the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF).

Produced by filmmaker/actress Niki Karimi, the Iranian-French-Qatari joint production competed at the feature film section of the event which was judged by a jury comprising Asghar Farhadi, as president, and Clio Barnard, Daniel Dreifuss, Petra Volpe and Piodor Gustafsson.

“Student Fereshteh has to hide her illegitimate baby for one night from her parents who turn up for a surprise visit. Her friend Atefeh helps her. They embark on an odyssey through Tehran during which they must carefully weigh up who their allies are,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The cast list includes Sadaf Asgari, Ghazal Shojaee, Babak Karimi, Amir-Reza Ranjbaran, Nahal Dashti, and Mohammad Heidari.

‘Until Tomorrow’ marked its world premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany.

It was previously screened at the 41st International Istanbul Film Festival in Turkey.

Founded in 2005, the Zurich Film Festival provides a platform for the most promising filmmakers from around the globe.

It aims to promote exchange between emerging directors, successful film workers, the film industry and the general public.

The 2022 Suisse festival took place on September 22 - October 02.
