The 39th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) has been launched.
The Iranian Oscar-qualifying gala was launched at the Mellat Cineplex on Wednesday.
A lineup of more than 60 fiction, animation and documentary films are competing at the festival.
In addition to several titles from Iran, the lineup contains movies from 35 countries, including the US, Germany, France, Denmark, Spain, Italy, India, Chile and Japan.
Canadian director writer and director Clara Milo is participating in the gala with her acclaimed drama ‘Aska’, while Japanese director Jinkyu Jeon’s animated film ‘The House of Loss’ is competing at the event.
The lineup also includes ‘Fatjona’ by German director Steve Bache, and the animated movie ‘Salvation Has No Name’ by English director Joseph Wallace is another highlight of the lineup.
The Iranian shorts at the international competition section are ‘Falling Up’ by Maryam Bakhtiari, ‘Mr. Van’s Room’ by Ehsan Mirzaee, ‘The Sprayer’ by Farnoush Abedi, ‘The Hatch’ by Masoud Hatami and ‘Naja’ by Mehdi Baqeri.
The 39th edition of the TISFF will be running until October 24.
