Esmaili hails Iran’s culture week in Tajikistan

Iran’s minister of culture and Islamic guidance has hailed the holding of Iran’s culture week in Tajikistan as “an important step” for promoting cultural ties between the two countries.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event in the capital Dushanbe on Monday, Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili said “The holding of Iran’s culture week in Tajikistan is a good opportunity for more sympathy and harmony between the two nations.”

Referring to the old ties between the two countries, he expressed the country’s readiness to enhance cultural cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe.

During the event, over 51 Iranian artists have displayed their art works. Iranian musicians also gave performances in the event.

Cultural and artistic programs are also scheduled to be performed in the cities of Khujand and Bokhtar as part of the event.

Starting Tuesday, Iran Film Week has been held during which a number of Iranian films will be screened.
