The film, directed by Ali Daraee, will be screened at the main competition section of this year’s edition of the event.
“Reyhaneh was the reason for her baby’s death. Now, in the absence of his runaway husband, she is looking for a way to bury the baby. She deals with different hardships but eventually finds a way to get what she wants,” a synopsis of the film reads.
‘Graveyard’ has already been shown at the Indiecork International Film Festival in Ireland and the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy, where it won the best short film award.
“Philadelphia Asian American Film & Filmmakers is a non-profit dedicated to supporting Asian & Pacific Islander (AAPI) diasporic film and media makers. Their premiere event, The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF), emphasizes artworks that are by, for, and about the Asian & Pacific Islander diaspora experience,” the official website of the event reads.
The 15th edition of the festival is scheduled for November 3-13, 2022.
